3-4-04: First March Madness Photos

The Davis Bike Club's annual "March Madness" competition is on--we've been riding (our goal for the month is 1,000 miles), but these are the first photos we've taken.  Photo location is Putah Creek Road, on the way to Winters.  The bridge (see our Feb 22 photos) is back open!

2-22-04: Winters Bridge on Buckeye is O-U-T

The bridge that cyclists from Davis would normally take to get from Putah Creek Road to downtown Winters is officially closed until the bridge's footings can be checked.  Here are photos from the Campy Only Phone-Cam.  Click on any image for a larger version

2-8-04: Lake Berryessa Glory Hole Ride

Dan and the tandem team of Paul and Peter joined Campy Only for a trip to see the glory hole spillway at Lake Berryessa, which is flowing for the second year in a row--a very rare occurrence indeed!  Shown below are our photos and videos of the flowing spillway.  (For photos from the 2003 glory hole overtopping, click here)

1-10-04: Cool Clouds

A trip over Cantelowe Road this morning had an added bonus--this cool cloud formation in Pleasants Valley.

1-3-04:  C-c-c-cold!

There was a lot of ice around--including some black ice on the road--on this great morning ride through Pleasants Valley, Wooden Valley, and near Lake Berryessa.  Wispy clouds were spotted near Moscowite Corners--they burned off in the time it took us to drink a cup of coffee.
