Before Delta brakes were offered for sale to the general public, a prototype was produced which was generally similar to the first run of Deltas, but differed in a few key features. Shown below are rare photos of these seldom-seen brakes, which were unveiled in 1984 for one day and then withdrawn from public view. These particular examples are from the collection of framebuilder Richard Sachs, who used these on a show bike. Click on any image to see a larger version. According to one account, only three sets of Delta prototypes were produced; we show photos here of two of those sets; the third is reportedly owned by Campagnolo. Thank you to Richard Sachs for providing these photos October
23, 2002--According to the person selling the Deltas shown below,
this is one of only two sets in private hands (the other is the set
owned by Richard Sachs). These photos show some great details,
including the engraved (not laser-etched) logo on the cover, and the
quick-release mechanism that was dropped from production models. Campy Only | More Delta Stuff | Campy Timeline
